The Medical Insurance Advisory Bureau (MIAB) has been in business since 2002, and our staff have over 50 years combined experience in the medical insurance field. The Medical Insurance Advisory Bureau (MIAB) is not tied to any one Insurer, therefore the advice we give is completely impartial. MIAB has currently 6 insurers on its panel for Locum Insurance & 8 for Surgery Insurance.
As pioneers in the medical insurance industry, MIAB have been responsible for the creation of additional cover terms for its Locum Insurance plans. These have included:
- First to introduce Jury Service cover for Locum Insurance, recognised in an article written by the BMA in November 2005
- First to introduce Suspension cover for Locum Insurance into the Medical Market in 2006
- First to introduce the concept of Locum Absense Insurance into the Medical Market in 2007
- First to offer a loyalty bonus for Locum Insurance policyholders in 2008
- First to offer "Revalidation Cover" within its Locum Insurance plans in 2009
