Whats The Right PMI For Me
With Primary Care Trusts forever tightening their budgets, as Medical Practitioners our advise to our patients is to consider the private medical insurance route.
Should you be considering this option for yourself?
Private Medical Insurance
Private medical insurance covers medical treatment and usually means you can often mean being treated quicker than the NHS. The cover you get will vary based upon the type of policy chosen. For instance a basic private medical insurance may cover most in–patient treatments (tests and surgery) and day–care surgery. More comprehensive plans give cover for out–patient treatments (such as specialists and consultants).
Private Medical Insurance Cover can be Purchased on
Full medical underwriting. This means you will be asked about the state of your health and underwritten from the information you provide, with the insurer deciding your terms accordingly.
Moratorium basis. This means you no questions will be asked about your health. However, if you have suffered from any medical condition(s) over the previous years (normally five), you would be excluded initially from cover for those condition(s).
